Woke up this morning to some upset comments on the blog calling us out for “terminating Wikileaks DNS” and politicizing domains. A quick google search shows some articles spreading, obviously written by half wit drones with no simple fact-checking abilities at all (hello, whois lookup anybody?) including the line “But the biggest damage to WikiLeaks was done by EasyDNS.net, the site’s DNS provider”.
This is not correct,
- Wikileaks is not with easyDNS
- easyDNS is not everyDNS.net
This happened in the past, when everyDNS was purchased by Dyn.com, it circulated via Twitter that we were the acquisition (we were not).
Finally, as far as I can tell, the removal of Wikileaks DNS was due to a DOS attack, not for political reasons. As I’ve written before, if you’re worried about a DOS attack and how it afftects your DNS provider, read this.
Thank you for listening.
