We have detected a DDoS attack in progress. We are alerting our upstream providers and mitigation procedures are going into effect.
Our apologies in advance if we take a little more time to answer emails and such than we might otherwise
This blog post will be updated as we get more information.
—update 15:41 EST : As yet we do not believe any of our clients are being affected by this attack.
–update 16:08 EST : The attack seems to be hitting DNS1 & DNS2 only, so far. We are mitigating appropriately. This means that domains properly delegated to at least three of our nameservers should still be unaffected.
–update 18:00 : Mitigation on DNS2 seems complete, while DNS1 is still seeing some intermittent resolution issues.
–update 18:54 : No changes
–update 20:17 : All nodes seem to be resolving well for now. No current issues being reported.
— update 22:03 : Still all quiet on the DDoS front
–update 00:45 : While we are still monitoring things, and are ready to leap into action, we’re reasonably sure things are under control.
— update 16/02/12 all finished.
Please note :: Anyone who has migrated their domains to the new interface and properly delegated their domains to our anycast clusters (three at the minimum) should not be seeing any serious effects from this. Clients still on the old interface/nameserver clusters may be experiencing intermittent resolution issues. While we are mitigating this as best we can, we do recommend migrating to the new interface to avoid difficulties.
Migrating your domain is now a one-step process outlined here :

We lost connection twice today to this dns 15:06 & 14:02. Is this going to happen again?
easyDNS Support says
Hi Sherri,
Your domain is still on our old interface and delegated to the old nameservers, so there may be some intermittent outages. If you migrate over to our new interface, it should be fine.
Soorry, I’m editing to add : and make sure you are delegated to the new nameserver clusters.

Hi there,
We’re also on the old interface as well. Can someone contact me about resolution to this issue? I left a voicemail with technical support.
Thanks!
easyDNS Support says
Hi Chris,
I sent you an email. Things seem solid right now, but please follow the recommendations there nonetheless.

As is often the case I only happened to see the blog entry about this logging in to check an item in my account. Nice work detecting and responding to the attempt at Denial-Of-Service. Keep up the great work!
