The earlier difficulty with intermittent dns time-outs that affected some lookups has been traced to an issue with an upstream bandwidth provider, which caused delays on lookups which certain routes, resulting in the time-outs.
For the time being, easyDNS has made some changes to ensure that this problem does not affect lookups against our users’ domains, and we will maintain the work-around until the upstream issues have been cleared up.
We apologize for any inconvenience during the brief period before the work-around was set up. Again, time-outs were limited to certain areas that routed across a specific provider, and were intermittent.
