We have experienced an attack event overnight Sunday (Aug 10) commencing approx. 11pm ET which continues now (early Monday Aug 11, 12:44am ET)
Due to a variety of factors, the effect was worse than usual and for a brief period, all four enterprise nameserver constellations were severely degraded.
These factors included:
dns3.easydns.org – routing complications with our mitigation partner preventing mitgation from taking immediate effect
dns2.easydns.net – a recent switch of mitigation vendors revealed a configuration error (our fault), which again prevented immediate mitigation.
At the time of writing dns2 is in the process of coming back on stream. dns1 is about to be rerouted. dns3 and dns4 are online.
We sincerely regret this event and will be making further changes to ensure future mitigation takes effect more rapidly in the future.
