It’s been awhile since we posted under the “Who Uses easyDNS” section. This morning I was perusing the daily changes for our nameservers and noticed the following domain just transferred in: originofthegods.com.
Having grown up on a steady diet of C.W Ceram, Greek mythology, The Golden Bough, et al I was pretty much hooked by the title.
Turns out this is a book written by an Englishman who emigrated right here to Canada and taught engineering at Queens University by the name of Peter Battey-Pratt. His background is quite interesting, a degree in mathematics, researching “the mind / body” problem in quantum physics “The Origin of The Gods” is the culmination of 15 years of research “using comparative mythology, linguistics, archeology and the earliest written histories” from which he concludes that all the world’s great religions stem from a common source.
Sadly, Mr. Battey-Pratt passed away recently on May 23rd of this year. Perhaps this is the reason why the entire book has been made available for free in a downloadable PDF from the website? You can also download a synopsis of the book here.

This is arriving late but I wanted to say thank you for this lovely post regarding Peter. He was my father. He would have been thrilled to have come across this. I hope his book has been of interest to many.
