Yesterday afternoon we were alerted of a domain upon our system that was known within DNS provider circles for excessive traffic, and attempted to have this issue dealt with before it became a problem. Unfortunately, while the domain was delegated to us for only a short time, we did see some spikes in traffic during the evening (EST time) in the form of a DNS flood, yet this leveled off into the evening.
Over the course of the night, we received some notifications from external monitoring sources regarding sporadic connectivity issues. We have been working with our upstream providers to relax some of the mitigation that was put into place to deal with the DNS flood, and will continue to do so as the flood subsides.
We apologise for the inconvenience.
